Each spring, our whitewater training school offers a comprehensive course, which aims to teach applicants how to become outstanding leaders on the river. Whether you aspire to become a rafting guide, or simply want to deepen your knowledge in whitewater sports, this course will teach you a whitewater rafting guide’s role and duties, river hydrology, whitewater safety, and more!

This course also offers an incredible opportunity to develop leadership skills, challenge yourself in a beautiful setting and, most of all, have fun with like-minded, passionate people!

  • Basic paddling strokes to steer an inflatable raft
  • Reading the river
  • Self-rescue and swiftwater swimming techniques
  • Navigating tactics and strategies / Recognizing river hazards
  • Rescue techniques and recovery methods
  • Signals and communication
  • Learning the lines through the Tewkesbury section of the Jacques-Cartier river
  • Entertaining participants on the river
