A professional guide will be with you every step of the way so that you can discover the Jacques-Cartier River from a unique vantage point!

  • Spring for the adrenaline rush
From opening day until mid-June, the river is fed by snowmelt, which generates higher water levels and makes for a more intense experience.
  • Summer to enjoy warmer water while discovering the sport
In the summer months, water levels are determined by the amount of rain we receive. The river is generally at a lower water level and warmer, which allows for more in-water activities that everyone can enjoy.
  • Fall to see the Jacques-Cartier don its beautiful fall colours
The arrival of fall brings about breathtaking views of the autumn foliage, as precipitations keep the river flowing. Seize the opportunity to paddle down the river before we close in mid-October.
  • Every season is unique in its own way!
  • As with any sport, rafting involves some risk. However, our guides receive rigorous whitewater rafting training or refresher training at the start of every season. They also hold up-to-date certifications in swift water rescue and first aid / CPR.
  • New Wave Expeditions take pride in having high safety standards for our participants and making every decision with safety as our priority.
  • Every trip begins with a presentation of safety rules and basic training in whitewater skills. To ensure your comfort and safety, you will be given a life jacket, helmet, and wetsuit.
  • Our expert guides are eager to make your experience fun and memorable!

Our #1 goal: fun and safety!
